Sweep Sweep

We decided it was about time for Hana to quit mooching off of us and get some chores done! Actually, she is always watching Momma sweep and is thrilled when she gets to try it on her own. Momma has to sweep everyday because a decent amount of Hana's meals end up on the floor! So we are off this weekend to our 2nd Annual Family Labor Day Tahoe trip. We are really excited to get away and we hope the weekend will be relaxing and uneventful. (No ER trips. We were just reimbursed $3800 out of $4000 for Kevin's ER bill in Cabo-we are soo thankful!!) In Cabo, Hana decided that she will not ever get in her swim seat again but she still loved being in the water. So I ordered her a lifejacket hoping that it gives her a safe way to splash around in the pool without us having to hold her the whole time. When it arrived, I started thinking that maybe it was a ridiculous idea. Hana seemed to like it though so stay tuned to see if it works!

Hana's First Picnic

We woke up this morning and the sun was shining and it was warm out-how exciting!! And it was a Friday! While at work, I had this brilliant idea of having a picnic in our yard when we got home. So Kevin picked up sandwiches from Lucky (I love that Albertson's is now Lucky, the grocery store of my childhood) and we put our food on a tray and headed outside. Hana loves the outdoors and loves food so a picnic was the perfect combination. She ditched the broccoli and stole the remains of Kevin's ham and cheese sandwich. I guess we can indulge her every now and then. Then again, she snuck into her diaper bag and ate at least 10 (organic and low in sugar) cookies at her harmony's house today-we were hoping to get some more veggies in her to make up for that indulgence!
Wow, we actually got a picture where she is looking at the camera-yay! Now, if only we could catch that big smile.....

Hana's Dedication

Hana was dedicated in our church this Sunday. We are often told in church that as parents, we are the primary pastors to our children. It is one of our most important roles and we pray Hana grows to follow Christ. In the picture with us are our friends Cade & Shakira and their adorable son Kyson, who is 3 months old. Hana was a little vocal and restless up there.
Luckily she turned really serious when Pastor Jeff prayed for her.

The Face

As we browse through pictures of Hana in her younger months, we have come across a few photos of her where she has major attitude. It is the same face every time and we can't determine if we caught her at a bad moment or if she really meant to give the camera a dirty look. Below is the latest of Hana with same look.
She wasn't in a bad mood when I took it...or was she?!

Backyard

One of Hana's new favorite activities is playing in the yard. The past few weeks have been extremely foggy so as soon as we saw the sun peeking through, we rushed outside and played until bedtime. When Hana was a few months old, we decided that our goal was to plant new grass and make the yard really nice by the time Hana was walking. We thought that gave us plenty of time!Well, Hana has been walking for a few months now and we've done 5% of what we wanted to accomplish. A year goes by too fast.

Spaghetti

We keep Hana on a pretty healthy diet consisting mainly of vegetables, fruit, tofu, chicken breast and tuna. Lately we have been letting her have little tastes of what we eat and she seems to love Momma's cooking so far. She even loves kimchi-Momma is so proud of her little Korean girl! We decided to let her have her own little bowl of spaghetti and made the mistake of letting her feed it to herself. It started of well and she was feeding herself just fine. Then she realized how good it was and wanted to get it into her mouth faster.
Eating straight from the bowl is definitely quicker....
....but way messier!!
