LoveBug Line Up

Right before Alaina was born, I joined our town's mothers club and I love it! They have a meal program for new moms, playgroups based on ages and fun events all year round. I haven't been able to go to Alaina's playgroup (the LoveBugs) for a while due to work (but that should change very soon!). Every few months the club has 'Bagels in the Park' on Saturdays. We went today and met up with some of Alaina's fellow LoveBugs. Hana had friends there as well but they were too busy playing to pose for a picture.Rya, Jack, Addison, Alaina, Brynn

Family Reunion in Indiana

Last week, Kevin & Hana went to Indiana for the Scarberry/Norman family reunion. I was unable to attend due to work commitments and while I really missed them, I really enjoyed some one-on-one time with Alaina. We had been telling Hana for weeks that she was going to ride on an airplane and Kevin said she (surprisingly!) behaved perfectly on the plane rides. Kevin didn't take as many pictures as I would've liked and the camera batteries ran out on the first night! My fault for not packing the battery charger though I doubt Kevin would've taken too many more pictures. Here are 3 Norman cousins - Hana, Jaina & Timothy.
Hana loooves swimming and I am sure she had a ton of fun swimming with her aunties!
This is Hana sitting in a rocking chair outside of Cracker Barrel. Not sure what is so great about Cracker Barrel but we have a friend who loves Cracker Barrel and Kevin told him that I don't 'get' the concept! I am thinking rich, calorie-laden food combined with a country store - I get it ;)!!
Here is Timmy, Jaina & Hana at Aunt Shari's house. I hear that Aunt Shari has a ton of toys and a huge yard that backs up into a cornfield and the kids loved playing there!
I wish there were more pictures of the whole family. Kevin & Hana had a great time in Indiana and though we missed them a lot, Alaina & I had fun together even though it was pretty quiet at home.

Alaina @ 8 months

Hard to believe Alaina is already 8 months old! She is developing everyday and her personality is definitely starting to appear. We think she is louder and rougher than Hana. Alaina loves her food and is way more into her solids that her bottles. She will SCREAM if anyone takes her food or if we are eating and she can't have anything. Alaina has been crawling for weeks now and has been cruising along the furniture for a few weeks as well, leading to more bumps and bruises. Lately she has been getting brave and has been trying to balance while not holding on to anything. She just wishes she could walk!

Alaina being loud and boisterous as usual!

Hana and Alaina are really starting to enjoy playing together. I love when they make each other laugh! One night at bedtime, Hana asked that we leave the room and let her play with Alaina alone for a bit, too cute! I hope this means they will be BFFs.

Carnival

Last weekend we went to a local carnival with Kevin's parents and our friends Robert & Valinda. They have a daughter, Sialai, who is only 2 weeks younger than Hana. These girls are such great friends!
The height restrictions on the rides are pretty strict but luckily both girls are extremely tall for their age and were able to get on a good number of rides.
These girls are too cute! On some of the rides, they needed a chaperone and Kevin was glad to play that role. Although, the rickety ferris wheel probably had him a little bit scared :)!
Alaina & I left the carnival early to get home and make dinner but on the way to my car, we had a great conversation with an older gentleman with similar political views :)

Grandma & Grandpa

This past weekend, Kevin's parents came to visit for a few days. Since they live on Saipan, we don't get very many opportunities to see them. It had been 2 years since Hana saw Grandma and 3 years since she met Grandpa and the first time for them to meet Alaina. The girls loved spending time with their grandparents and we loved having their company too. And I really appreciated the extra help around the house and the chance to sleep in :). Grandpa and Alaina playing with this toy together was just too precious!
