Happy Fathers Day

Our Fathers Day gift to Kevin and my dad was tickets to the US Open at Pebble Beach. They left at 5 am and got to the course around 7 am. It was a little weird to spend Fathers Day without the two best dads that I know but I was happy that they enjoyed themselves. They both definitely deserved the time away!

San Mateo County Fair

Hana has a really cute piggy bank (given to her by our friends, the Howard family) and we keep it in our living room and add spare change and random dollar bills whenever we get the chance. We cash it in once or twice a year and let Hana spend the money on special outings. In the past, the funds have been spent on fireworks and Disney on Ice souvenirs. This time, it was for the San Mateo County Fair. It was Hana's 3rd time going and Alaina's first. Hana is definitely tall enough for all the kiddie rides now and loved the teacups. Of course, Miss Social made some friends in line and invited them to share her cup.
Food is still Alaina's favorite thing ever. She does a little happy dance anytime she gets food. She was quite excited about her carnival hot dog!
Hana insisted that Kevin ride on this giant swing with her. They were going so fast that I was quite lucky to get this shot. They have so much fun together.
Alaina absolutely adored all the farm animals. She didn't even mind when a goat nibbled at her fingers. I am not a pet person by nature, will never own a dog but after seeing these animals, I wouldn't mind a cow, pig or goat! If our town has a 4-H club, I definitely want to get the girls involved.

Best Behaved Day Ever!

I love every day that I get to spend with my children but Wednesday was especially great! We started it off with storytime at a nearby library and went out for pizza afterwards with friends. Hana was perfectly behaved all day. She was kind to everyone, didn't cry or whine about anything and did not get in any fights with Alaina. I was so proud of her! As a reward, we told her we'd take her whereever she wanted after dinner. No surprise that she chose to go to downtown SF!
We did a little exploring in Chinatown. The girls were waving at everyone, so social!
We love our impromptu visits downtown. There is always something new for the girls to see.
We take a picture of Hana by the hearts in Union Square almost everytime we go.

Tired Girls

I love this picture! This was taken last weekend during our staycation. We let the girls go for a nighttime swim and stay up way past their bedtime. They finally passed out around 10 pm and this is what I saw when I peeked in the room. I adore how little Alaina is leaning against Hana.

Happy 4th Birthday Hana!

We can't believe that our skinny, dark-haired, blue-eyed baby is 4 years old! Time certainly flies. Hana was excited about her special day from the moment she woke up. We let her open one gift in the morning, which was her favorite movie, Enchanted. We had my parents over for dinner, presents and cake to celebrate. Dinner was Thai food from Hana's favorite restaurant and cake was Mazetti's derby cake. I don't even eat cake but I do know that their derby cake is the best cake ever.
Loving the family picture!
As we expected, Alaina was a bit jealous of all the presents and attention Hana was getting. Thankfully, my mother anticipated this and got Alaina a present of her own - this supercute dress!
It was a Disney Princess birthday for Hana (sigh). She has been begging for a vanity table with Princess accessories and she was beyond thrilled to get them. I also got her some Princess dress up clothes since she loves to play with them at her friends' houses. I must admit, the vanity table is adorable and I know I would've loved all these things when I was her age too!
Happy Birthday, happy girl!
