Pregnancy Update

I am 36 weeks today and had another sonogram. Thankfully, the water on the baby's kidneys has cleared up and there is only a minimal amount, nothing to be concerned about. However, the baby's abdomen is only measuring in the 10th percentile. I will have to go in for a non-stress test and another sonogram in two weeks. Please pray that the baby is healthy.
However, I feel great and am not too worried about the baby.
I officially started my maternity leave on Wednesday and am looking forward to these next few weeks with just Hana. She has been clingy and needy lately. Very out of character for her but I think she senses that there are big changes coming!

San Mateo County Fair

Last Saturday we cashed in the contents of Hana's piggy bank and let her spend it at the fair. We ate fair food, watched a magician eat fire, watched pig races, checked out some farm animals, drew pictures, rode rides, walked a lot, tasted free samples and had a great time. The only animals Hana was interested in petting were these big turtles.
Hana loved the stage with the microphone and kept going up to sing songs such as Are You Sleeping? and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. She loved being in the spotlight!
Hana got to ride the carousel with Daddy twice. I sat and watched because pregnant women were not allowed on any rides.
There was a booth charging $1 to see an 1100 lb. pig. My curiousity got to me and I had to check it out. Fat pig!!

Toddler Time

Our town has some great Parks & Rec programs. Hana just finished a 4 week class called Toddler Time. It was for ages 1.5 to 2.5 and required parents to interact as well. Because it was on Monday mornings, Kevin was the one who took her. Kudos to Kevin because he was the only dad attending these sessions. I look forward to signing Hana up for more sessions and being able to participate with her while I am on maternity leave! There was craft time so now we have some lovely artwork by Hana to post on our refrigerator. I love it!
Hana loved the play kitchen so much that we are considering getting her one as a Big Sister gift when the baby is born. My new project is finding her one that is cute and affordable. Kevin vetoed the pink stove, refrigerator and pantry set that I found at Pottery Barn Kids. I knew it was a long shot ;)

Beach Time

This weekend we spent some time at the beach. Hana loved playing in the sand with her new shovel and bucket. It was such a relaxing time that we almost felt like we were away on vacation. When we've taken Hana to the beach before, she has always resisted getting in the water because it's so cold. Surprisingly, she let us dip her toes in. She ended up loving it and the three of us frolicked in the waves. So much fun! She got so adventurous that she wanted to dive right in but we only let the water get up to her knees. Even with chattering teeth, she didn't want to stop splashing so we let her keep playing with a towel wrapped around her. We are so proud when she tries new things!

Mimicking Mommy

On weekend afternoons, I can be found on the couch with a book, hoping to drift off into a nice long nap. On Saturday, I briefly got up from the couch and Hana stole my spot. She thought it was hilarious to grab my book and act like Mommy.
